Exposition Art Déco in Sintra, Portugal

In the exposition ART DECO now presented, Berardo Collection reveals to it - mobile, jars, glasses, chainses, paintings, sculptures and jewels, along with part of the Colecção of Musée DES ANNÉES 30 of Boulogne-Billancourt. E still clothes and parts of years 20 of the National Museum of the Suit and a Bugatti of 1929, of the Museum of the Caramulo.

Schedule of the Museum: Every day (except the a monday) of 10h to 18h. To the sundays, until 14h, entered gratuitous for all. Price for adults: 3 Euros For Seniores and students: 1,50 Euros

19 de abril de 2007, 9º. Congresso Mundial das Art Déco Societies

In April 19, 2007, during the 9th World Congress on Art Deco, promoted by the Art Deco Societies, in Melbourne, Australia (www.artdeco.org.au), the Brazilian Art Deco Institute will be represented by its President, Márcio Alves Roiter, who will give a lecture on “The Aborigine origin of the Brazilian Art Deco”. The World Congress on Art Deco happens every two years, in cities with relevant Art Deco heritage. In 2005, in New York, the Brazilian Art Deco Institute, represented by Márcio Alves Roiter, presented the lecture “Rio Art Deco”. For 2009, Montreal was chosen during the 8th World Congress on Art Deco in New York, 2005.

In June, 2007, there will be several events in the Institute's headquarters, such as the lecture presented in Melbourne, the presentation of different experts in Rio 1900/1950, the screening of the documentary “Christo Redemptor”, by Bel Noronha, the exhibition and auctioning of pieces from 1880 to 1950.

 

 

November 2006 and February 2007, “A Casa Art Déco Carioca" Exposition

Between november 2006 and february 2007, the Art Déco Brasil Institute promoted an exposition called “A Casa Art Déco Carioca” wich inaugurated the Espaço Cultural Peninsula, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. (Click to see the Catalogue) .

During the exposition, in december 15th 2006, invited by the Art Déco Brasil Institute and by the sponsors Carvalho Hosken e J. C. Gontijo, the internationally known specialist Alastair Duncan, author of more that 20 books on Art Déco and Art Nouveau made a presentation for an audience of around two hundred guests.

 

 

Nov. 2004, Rio Déco Week

In november 2004, Rio de Janeiro hosted a group of 40 art deco fans interested in Rio’s Twenties and Thirties. Organized by the Events Producer, Geo Darder, the Rio Déco Week had a festive opening in the headquarters of the Art Déco Brasil Institute. Click to see Gallery. Among the participants, the event had the presence of the presidents of the Art Deco Society of New York Kathy Hausman and Art Déco Society of Los Angeles, Mitzi Mogul.
